International entertainer and technology entrepreneur, Oladapo Oyebanjo, commonly referred to asD’banj, has formed a collaboration with the United Nations to introduce the Nigerian Youth Positively Driven (NYPD) program.

This occurred several months following Afreximbank’s acquisition of a stake in the singer’s C.R.E.A.M. Platform, representing one of his most recent achievements in tech entrepreneurship.

The project was formally introduced at the UN@80 event in Abuja, alongside the launch of the Creative Alliance for Peace.

NYPD

The NYPD initiative acts as a national appeal, urging Nigerians to record and honor commendable activities taking place within their neighborhoods.

Via the NYPD website, people appearing in uploaded videos may be eligible for a grant.

Additionally, contributors are awarded a grant of N250,000, while rewards will be distributed weekly as part of an extensive initiative aimed at highlighting and recognizing positive contributions throughout the nation.

Once the C.R.E.A.M. Platform grants rewards to the NYPD’s participants, the top entries are sent to the Creative Alliance for Peace to be further promoted.

The artist leverages the platform to showcase his aspirations and drive for achievement in both his professional and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Rationale

D’banj mentions that the NYPD program is designed to shift national focus towards progress, creativity, and those leading transformation. Expanding on the chance, he revealed, “When discussing the creative sector, we all recognize that currently, content is the primary export our country has. Regrettably, we lack sufficient solid partnerships or platforms where young people can easily obtain assistance.”

Africa is the most innovative continent, and we have only begun to explore its potential, with just 20% uncovered. I believe it’s crucial to unite and give this voice a platform. We are advancing, and the movement is known as Nigerian Youths Positively Driven (NYPD). Through this initiative, we have formed an alliance, and now we are seeking youths who are positively motivated to become part of it.

The NYPD website is now accepting submissions from all over Nigeria.
