The collaboration between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia is based on mutual advantages and is yielding tangible outcomes, stated Ethiopia’s Special Envoy and Plenipotentiary to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Muktar Kedir.
In conversation with ENA, he mentioned that the two nations have deep cultural, religious, and interpersonal connections.
He remembered that official diplomatic ties started in the mid-1800s, setting the stage for the extensive collaboration seen today.
Ambassador Muktar Kedir stated that the collaboration between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia has significantly improved since the change in Ethiopia’s government.
The two nations have now established a “high-level strategic relationship,” backed by increasing collaboration in various areas, with many Saudi investors “involved in trade and different investment sectors in Ethiopia,” indicating rising confidence in the country’s economic environment.
As stated by the ambassador, Ethiopia provides a wide variety of agricultural goods to the Saudi market, with the yearly trade volume experiencing a significant increase.
The collaboration is based on common goals and keeps delivering tangible outcomes, he mentioned.
He added that numerous Ethiopians currently have the chance to secure legal jobs in Saudi Arabia.
“Two hundred thousand Ethiopians entered the nation legally in the previous year,” he stated, noting that arrangements are being made to facilitate the entry of three hundred and sixty thousand citizens this year.
The ambassador highlighted that the two nations will keep enhancing interactions between their citizens and broadening all-around relationships.
