Deputy President Kithure Kindiki stated that disciplined and progress-focused governance will prevail against challenges and derogatory remarks in the upcoming Mbeere North by-election.

The DP alleged that the opposition offered offensive remarks, hollow speech, and boastful statements to voters who are solely focused on advancement and growth, promising them a loss in the upcoming Thursday’s election.

On Thursday, speaking at Kanyuambora in the constituency while campaigning for UDA’s candidate Leonard Wamuthende Leo, Prof. Kindiki stated that voters are more informed and recognize those who act in their best interest.

“Our adversaries have been present here, offering nothing but threats and insults aimed at leaders from Embu and Mbeere. When you insult leaders, you are essentially insulting the people who chose them. This behavior is not acceptable,” the DP said.

Kindiki stated that humility and effective service are the hallmarks of strong leadership, emphasizing that he will never be tempted to respond with insults, but rather concentrate on finishing large-scale development projects in the area for the advantage of the residents.

“We respectfully request the esteemed citizens of Mbeere North to vote for Leo, as he is modest and his plans to enhance the lives of the people in this area are widely recognized,” DP stated.

Additionally, Kindiki mentioned that they will collaborate with Leo to expedite the completion of current projects, such as the Kanyuambora Irrigation project valued at Sh250 million, the building of the Kanyuambora modern market, and the Kanyuambora-Kamumu-Siakago Road, which is currently under construction.

The market is one of 12 in Embu County supported by the Ruto administration.

The DP mentioned that those responsible for creating divisions in the constituency had previously been in power but failed to assist the residents of Mbeere North.

“When they held power, they had no impact on the development of any water or road projects or electricity connections, but now they are back, deceiving you about how we should unite and how we are one. They need to show respect,” he said.

The DP advised locals not to be influenced by efforts to provoke them into conflict with their opponents, stating that the by-election should not lead to hostility.

“It is essential that we preserve our peace, our friendship, and our community, as after next week’s elections, we will continue to live together as one people. Campaigns should not create hostility among the people of Mbeere North,” the DP stated.
