The province of Benguela will be the venue for the 9th National Conference on Science and Technology (CNCT- in Portuguese), taking place from December 3rd to 5th. This event, held every two years, is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI), with the aim of advancing and discussing the nation’s scientific and technological progress.
With the slogan “Angola 50 years: advancing development through science, technology, and innovation,” the event is included in the festivities celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of National Independence, which takes place on November 11th.
The CNCT also seeks to share scientific and technological findings, with approximately a thousand attendees anticipated this year.
This version of the event, in collaboration with the Council of Rectors of Universities of Angola (CRUANG), will take place alongside the 4th Fair of Ideas, Inventions, Innovation, and Technology-Driven Entrepreneurship (FIEBaT).
With an estimate of 100 participants, FIEBaT will display advancements and business initiatives from young Angolans.
Targeting the complete national science and technology network, CNCT and FIEBaT will gather educators, scientists, innovators, designers, exhibitors, delegates from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Scientific Research and Development Organizations, as well as public and private enterprises and governmental agencies.
The event also provides an opportunity to showcase and examine the findings of scientific research initiatives, promote and recognize innovative products, services, and procedures with economic and social value for sustainable development that have emerged in Angola.
These occurrences form a stage of distinction for the validation of the country’s intellectual and artistic capabilities, advancing science and technology as crucial foundations of national independence and progress.
The National Conference on Science and Technology (CNCT) and the Fair of Ideas, Inventions, Innovation, and Technology-Based Entrepreneurship (FIEBaT) represent significant achievements in the country’s scientific and technological development, organized with dedication and a clear strategic approach by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESCTI).
Starting from 2009, when the first edition of the CNCT was held, and continuing from 2019 with the launch of FIEBaT, these events have been establishing themselves, every two years, as key venues for advancing knowledge, innovation, and scientific progress in Angola.
