Lalmonirhat, Dec. 4 – A Bangladeshi individual was fatally shot by alleged members of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) near the Patgram border in Lalmonirhat early on Thursday.

The departed individual was recognized as Sabuj Mia, 29, the son of Sirajul Islam from Pochabandar village within the Jagatber union.

Residents stated that Sabuj and a group of farmers had traveled to the Shamshernagar border region at sunrise to tend their fields when gunshots were heard from the Indian side. Sabuj was discovered in critical condition shortly after.

Commander Kamal Uddin of the Shamshernagar Border Outpost, citing local reports, mentioned that BSF personnel subsequently removed the body.

He mentioned that a protest letter has been delivered to the BSF.

A Bangladeshi man was fatally shot by BSF near the border in Chuadanga.

Meanwhile, Abul Kasem, the company commander of the BGB-51 Battalion, mentioned that multiple efforts had been made to organize a flag meeting, with high-level discussions ongoing with the BSF.

Patgram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman stated that they are informed about the incident and a joint meeting between BGB and BSF officials could occur soon.
