The Sindh government, on Thursday, launched an e-marking system with the goal of digitizing the evaluation process in all educational institutions within the province, aiming to reduce mistakes in assessing students’ exam papers. Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Rahoo, officially launched the e-marking system during the 183rd two-day meeting, which was held in partnership with the Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and the Sindh Boards Committee of Chairmen (SBCC).

‘We aim to create an assessment system within Sindh’s educational boards that aligns with contemporary needs and is also open, trustworthy, and entirely digital,’ Rahoo stated during the meeting.

He mentioned that advancing e-marking and digital transformation across all educational boards continues to be a key focus for the provincial government, aiming to offer modern resources and guarantee access to high-quality education for all students. Rahoo pointed out that e-marking has already been effectively introduced in Sindh’s education boards, with officials planning to extend the system to other boards by next year.

We are implementing every feasible measure to ensure the transparency of exam results, manage problems like question paper leaks, and eradicate plagiarism,” the minister stated. “Enhancing the examination system is our shared duty, and it’s positive to see all boards are in agreement on this matter.

The minister also promised measures against a professor from Shah Abdul Latif University due to ongoing absences.

In the meantime, concerning staff appointments at the university’s Khairpur campus, he mentioned that the appropriate court order would be followed. Rahoo further stated that initiatives are being undertaken to grant autonomy to the Karachi University research center, with all relevant parties being consulted.

He also mentioned that the selection of permanent exam supervisors and secretaries in Sindh boards will be completed shortly.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Hyderabad district officially introduced the E-Challan (E-Ticketing) system to enhance the enforcement of traffic regulations. According to a police representative, the initiative was launched at the Rahoki Toll Plaza, making Hyderabad the second district after Karachi to implement this system. Residents have been encouraged to abide by traffic rules and drive responsibly to prevent issues and avoid unnecessary penalties. The spokesperson mentioned that the E-Ticketing system will soon be extended to other regions within the Hyderabad district. The police have called on the public to support this new initiative.
