Dhaka, December 9 – The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the Italian aerospace and defense company Leonardo S.p.A have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU), opening the door for the acquisition of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets by the air force.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Tuesday at the Air Force Headquarters, with Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan and Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Antonio Alessandro present, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Senior Officers from the Armed Forces Division and delegates from Italy were also present at the signing ceremony.

As per BAF, this marks a move toward integrating advanced multi-role combat aircraft into the operational fleet of the Bangladesh Air Force.
