The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, on Monday officially launched the Fund’s Monitoring Team, instructing its members to ensure rigorous accountability and transparency in the use of security assets throughout Lagos State.
A declaration authored by the Media advisor to LSSTF, Samson Oki, and shared with PUNCH Online on Tuesday, stated that the action, carried out on Monday at the LSSTF office, is part of initiatives aimed at enhancing monitoring of public funds assigned to security organizations functioning within the state.
As per the statement, the exercise also highlights Ogunsan’s dedication to strengthening public trust in the Trust Fund by making sure that contributions and government assistance are carefully used to achieve better security results.
This Oversight Group is not symbolic. You are being sent to guarantee full adherence, cost-effectiveness, and proper utilization of all resources given to our security organizations.
“The reliability of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund depends on how thoroughly we protect and report on the funds given to us. Perform your duties efficiently,” the statement cited Ogunsan as stating.
The statement mentioned that during the event, Mr. Adeniran Samson, a security specialist, was introduced as the Head of the Field Operations Office within the LSSTF Monitoring Team.
A working vehicle was also provided to the team to improve movement and effectiveness while carrying out its tasks.
Speaking to the team members, Ogunsan emphasized that their role was “essential in preserving the Fund’s credibility and ensuring the trust of corporate donors and private supporters.”
PUNCH Online states that the establishment and positioning of the Monitoring Team meet a promise previously made by Ogunsan during a strategic media meeting with top editors and media executives at the LSSTF headquarters on December 5, 2025.
During the engagement, he promised that the Fund would enhance monitoring systems to guarantee that each naira contributed results in measurable progress in security and safety for Lagos State’s inhabitants.
