The U.S. Navy’s Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered submarine (SSN) *Greenville* reached Busan Operational Base on the 23rd to conduct ammunition loading and provide crew rest, according to the navy’s statement.

The *Greenville*, which is 110 meters long and 10 meters wide, has a crew of around 110 members, and is armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, 12 vertical launching systems (VLS), torpedoes, and four launch tubes.

The navy stated that it intends to increase interactions and collaboration between the Republic of Korea and U.S. navies, and to strengthen the joint defense arrangement after the *Greenville* arrived.

The arrival of a U.S. Navy SSN signifies the initial one in roughly 10 months since the *Alexandria* visited Busan in February and October of this year. This also marks the first instance of a U.S. nuclear-powered submarine entering the nation under the Lee Jae-myung administration.
