Fresh information has come to light regarding the surprising road incident involving professional boxer Anthony Joshua during his visit to family in Nigeria.

The event, which took place on Sunday, December 29, resulted in the deaths of two of Joshua’s colleagues, named Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
How did Anthony Joshua escape from death?
The incident occurred in Makun, Ogun State, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway close to the Sinoma region, when the Lexus LX570 that Joshua was in crashed into a parked truck.
Amazingly, Joshua and the driver emerged with just slight injuries, whereas his colleagues sadly perished.
As per reports from the Daily Mail, Joshua’s survival is credited to a sudden seat change with one of the passengers.
In conversation with the press, the driver’s attorney, Olalekan Abiodun, stated that Joshua was initially seated in the front, but the driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, requested him to switch places.
“I know the trip began in Lagos, and at first Joshua was sitting in the front, but the driver asked him to switch seats. He did this because Joshua is a large man and couldn’t see the wing mirror well, so he moved to sit behind the driver. According to what I’ve been told, Latif then took Joshua’s place,” Olelakan said.
Law enforcement officials detained Kayode and filed four charges against him, including: causing death through reckless driving, negligent and careless driving, failing to exercise proper care and attention while driving, resulting in injury and property damage, and driving without a valid national driver’s license.
The attorney for Kayode claimed that a brake malfunction led to the accident, and his client maintained a not guilty plea to all accusations.
Had Kayode beaten Anthony Joshua previously?
In defense of his father, 19-year-old Adeniti Ifeoluwa mentioned that his father had been driving Joshua for the last three years and made every effort to prevent the accident. He pointed out that the driver of the parked truck was also at fault.
Kayode was released on a bail amounting to ₦5,000,000 and is still in custody until the bail requirements are met. The case is set for January 20.
