In the midst of speculation about changes to NBC’s NFL broadcasting lineup, three top athletes have been considered as possible alternatives.

On Tuesday night, Andrew Marchand from The Athletic reported that the ‘Football Night in America’ studio program is set for changes following the expiration of the on-air personalities’ contracts.

Especially, Hall of Fame football coachTony Dungy is ‘probably gone’ after 17 seasonsas the network aims to ‘restructure’ the pregame show for ‘Sunday Night Football.’

Dungy is not the only person currently without a job, as Jason Garrett, Rodney Harrison, Devin McCourty, and Chris Simms also saw their contracts expire.

Several actors might ultimately return since no definitive choices have been made yet. However, rumors suggest that NBC could be actively seeking fresh talent for the show.

At the top of the list is the formerPittsburgh SteelersCoach Mike Tomlin, who has not yet accepted a new position following his dismissal after his team was eliminated in the AFC Wild Card round.

Besides Tomlin, it is reported that two of his top players from last season may be under review.

Pass rusher Cam Heyward appeared on the network’s Super Bowl LX pregame show. However, Marchand indicates he “may not be finished playing.”

Furthermore, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is considered a ‘wild card’ since it remains uncertain whether he has completed his last play in professional football.

Other designations within the range of potential evaluators were Travis Kelce, who is being sought by multiple networks, as well as quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Kelce has not provided any definitive sign on whether he will step away from football this season. Regarding Cousins, he is expected to be released by the Atlanta Falcons, although he might still secure another opportunity.

NBC’s present team, which is currently under lockdown, consists of host Maria Taylor, insider Mike Florio, fantasy football expert Matthew Berry, reporter Jac Collinsworth, and statistician Steve Kornacki.
