A private school educator has received an additional charge as she could potentially spend a lifetime in prison due to accusations of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old pupil.

St. Augustine’s Brookvale’s drama instructor, Ella Clements, 24, has been accused of having an illegal relationship with a minor.

An adult is charged when they are alleged to have committed two or more illegal sexual activities at any time.

It carries a possible maximum punishment of life in prison.

Clements is also dealing with three additional charges of aggravated sexual contact with a minor.

Law enforcement dropped a charge of deliberate sexual contact with a minor.

Clements was taken into custody on campus at the prestigious university located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches in September 2025.

A private institution may require parents to pay up to $23,590 for their child’s enrollment in Grade 12.

It is known that Clements remained in detention for two nights prior to being released to a medical center located in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales.

She is required to live with her family in Lennox Head at all other times, under supervision,The Daily Telegraph reported.

Clements has not yet filed any responses to the accusations.

She has been required to appear in person at the Downing Centre Local Court on June 4, when the case is scheduled for potential referral.

In a message to parents following Clements’ arrest, St Augustine’s Brookvale principal Jonathan Byrne stated that she had been suspended and dismissed once the accusations became known.

“As a parent, I recognize that an inquiry of this nature may lead to worry,” Mr. Byrne wrote.

We remain in collaboration with law enforcement and appropriate officials, and for now, our priority is to safeguard the privacy and welfare of the student and their family.

Kindly understand that, in this case, we are legally restricted in the information we can provide, and our main priority is to ensure the student’s safety and welfare. The judicial procedure should be permitted to proceed as usual.

It is known that Clements was employed at the school for a minimum of one year prior to the accusations becoming public.

A Catholic institution provides education for male students in grades 5 through 12.
