Severe shortages of fuel and medicines may affect households within weeks as No 10 is too preoccupied with SirKeir Starmera leadership crisis in handling the effects of theIrandispute, senior Government sources have stated.

Due to the growing pressure on supply routes caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, senior government officials have been advising No 10 to be transparent with the public regarding the potential consequences if the conflict continues into the summer.

A source involved in emergency preparedness mentioned to The Mail on Sunday that airlines can only sustain their present level of fuel usage for an additional three weeks as their reserves decrease. Consequently, the companies are not introducing additional UK flights that typically fill the summer schedule.

The source said: ‘Downing StreetIt should be addressing this, being honest with the public about the possible sacrifices that may need to be made and hinting at rationing without causing alarm. Instead, it is focused on whether Starmer can remain as PM.

The shortage has already caused a rise in the costs of essential itemsNHSmedications used by millions of individuals, includingcancerdrugs, performance-enhancing substances, and medications used to manage high blood pressure.

Certain pharmacies have experienced price increases of up to 11 times since February. It is also expected that food prices will go up significantly overall.

Sir Keir, who will head the Government’s Middle East Response Committee on Tuesday, has assigned one of his limited remaining supporters, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones, to oversee ‘cross-departmental planning’ in order to ‘gather relevant departments twice a week to review their strategies and ensure our supply chains stay strong’.

Thus far, the Government’s actions have been limited to reducing the energy price limit, boosting CO2 emissions, enhancing the effectiveness of costly imported fertilizers, and ‘collaborating with industry to track jet fuel reserves’.

Officials have also provided resources to assist drivers in locating the most affordable prices at fuel stations, as well as supporting the most vulnerable households with the expense of heating oil. Officials emphasize that deliveries of jet fuel are still arriving in the UK – however, sources within Whitehall indicate that supplies are being consumed more quickly than they can be replenished.

According to sources, they also want individuals to “continue filling up and using their vehicles as usual” to prevent causing panic buying.

Mr. Jones stated, “This is not our war. The Government made the correct decision to remain neutral in the conflict and only engage in defensive measures to safeguard Britain’s interests.”

We are taking immediate action to get ready for, and reduce as much as possible, the effects on our economy and national security caused by the conflict.

The Prime Minister is seeking a free-of-charge Strait of Hormuzreopened at the earliest possible opportunity.

The UK is diligently collaborating with global allies to discover a lasting resolution to this issue and reduce the secondary effects on families.

We will consistently prioritize the interests of the British public, and the Prime Minister will [serve as chairman of] a government-wide meeting next week to advance these preparations.
