During a significant visit that amazed the Och’Idoma Palace, His Excellency, Arch. Peter Agada, officially shared his intention to contest for the Nigerian Presidency in 2027 with the Paramount Ruler, HRM Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John.

Accompanied by a group of young professionals and supporters, Agada, the top Labour Party candidate for president, was welcomed warmly by palace officials, youth organizations, and traditional advisors who gathered in large numbers.

Speaking to the royal court, Arch. Agada, the former Finance Director of the Obedient Movement, outlined his policy plan, which he refers to as Labour Direct. He highlighted insecurity, widespread youth unemployment, the declining naira, deteriorating infrastructure, and a loss of confidence in leadership as “major challenges facing our country.”

Under Labour Direct, he promised safety, community-based intelligence combined with technology-focused design to protect farms and urban areas.

In his job proposals, he pledged to establish industrial centers within each region, concentrating on agricultural processing and solid minerals, with direct connections to youth employment opportunities.

He also addressed human capital, pledging a national skills-to-industry initiative, along with immediate reforms to education and primary healthcare.

Unity in Leadership: “Skill without favoritism,” making sure each area has a sense of belonging in Nigeria.

“Nigeria requires action, not just explanations,” Agada stated.

Labour Direct focuses on employing Nigerians — providing them with security, training, and a sense of ownership.

A Labour Party presidential candidate is serving as Minister of Infrastructure, Energy, Works, Housing, and Urban Development within the Big Tent Shadow Government. He also previously held the position of Chairman of the Big Tent Support Group Council.

Dr. Agada is the founder and chairman of Cyrus Group Nigeria, the world’s leading acoustics organization.

HRM Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John expressed his “thrilled and excited” feelings about young people uniting and connecting. He commended Agada’s “courage and display of power and ability,” referring to it as a point of honor for the Idoma region.

Nevertheless, the royal father delivered a serious warning: “Unity among the Idoma has been mostly absent. If we are to showcase our finest qualities to Nigeria, we must first be united within our own community.”

The Och’Idoma provided royal blessings and implored for the project’s success, urging “all Idoma people, both in the homeland and overseas, to come together in support and prayers for their own.” As his prayers concluded, the palace burst into chants, with drummers and youth groups celebrating the occasion.

With the royal approval obtained and the palace clearly agitated, Agada’s team states that nationwide discussions under the Labour Direct initiative will start in May.
