The 85th Anniversary of Victory was marked by a grand ceremony at the Patriots’ Victory Monument Square (Arat Kilo) in Addis Ababa, which drew participation from high-ranking government officials, foreign diplomats, and citizens.
At the gathering, President Taye remarked that the day marks a significant victory against fascism and Nazism, offering his congratulations to the nation’s citizens and to the patriots who preserved the country’s independence through their sacrifices.
He observed that the yearly remembrance highlights the perseverance and resolute fight of patriots, who, with minimal resources and simple arms, overcame a highly equipped foreign army.
