King Mohammed VI has conveyed a message of sympathy and support to the family of the late Abdelwahab Doukkali.

In this message, the King states that He was deeply saddened to learn of the death of the renowned artist and musician Abdelwahab Doukkali, who had a long and fruitful artistic career characterized by sophisticated works that will forever be remembered in the history of Moroccan and Arab music.

In this sorrowful situation, the Sovereign conveys His profound sympathy and heartfelt empathy to the entire family of the late individual, his relatives, his extensive artistic community, and all his friends and followers, in the wake of the passing of one of the key figures in Moroccan music.

The late artist enriched the country’s musical heritage with many enduring pieces over more than six decades, playing a major role in advancing contemporary Moroccan music through his performances, arrangements, and compositions. He spread this music far beyond Morocco’s borders, gaining the affection and respect of his fans and music enthusiasts, which enabled him to receive many distinguished awards at national, Arab, and international levels, as stated in the Royal Message.

On this same occasion, His Majesty the King emphasizes the noble human traits of the departed, his artistic elegance, his genuine patriotism, and his steadfast loyalty to the Honorable Alawite Dynasty.

The Sovereign expresses that He empathizes with the family of the late Abdelwahab Doukkali during this difficult time, acknowledging that divine will is unavoidable. He implores the Almighty to bestow them with endurance and solace, to envelop the deceased in His compassion and mercy, to welcome him into His expansive paradise, and to generously reward him for his contributions to his art and his country.

“O peaceful spirit! Return to your Lord, content [with Him] and pleasing [to Him]. Therefore, join My servants and enter My Heaven. The Word of God is true,” concludes the Royal Message.
