On the afternoon of the 17th, members of the North Korean Naegohyang Women’s FC left the arrival area at Incheon International Airport with serious looks on their faces. Despite local civic organizations displaying banners and chanting welcoming slogans, the players did not even look in their direction. They are set to compete against Suwon FC Women in the semifinals of the Women’s Champions League organized by the Asia Football Confederation (AFC) on the 20th. This is the first time in about eight years, since the end of 2018, that North Korean athletes have traveled to South Korea for a game.
