The doctor who conducted the same mental evaluation that President Donald Trump frequently highlights publicly believes there is something that should concern the nation.
Dr. Rob Davidson, leader of the Committee for the Protection of Healthcare, led former CNN reporter Jim Acosta through the Montreal Cognitive Assessment on Acosta’s show this week. Davidson utilized the look to convey a sharp message regarding Trump’s frequent public assertions that he has passed the test multiple times.

The test, according to Davidson, is not a standard assessment given to every patient who comes in. It is used only when a healthcare provider or a family member has expressed worry about potential memory loss. One administration is usually sufficient.
Is it not usual, right?” Davidson remarked. “It’s not typical. It’s not something you would generally do for anyone when you weren’t worried.

The MoCA is intended to identify mild cognitive impairment, not to assess intelligence or diagnose full-blown dementia. Davidson referred to it as a screening tool for individuals who may be “slipping slightly” and whose family members or doctor have begun to notice changes. It is not a test that the typical healthy adult takes, nor is it meant to be taken repeatedly for personal satisfaction.
Davidson avoided stating that Trump has a treatable illness, referring to such distant assessments as unethical. However, he did not diminish the impression Trump’s public conduct creates on him as a medical professional.
I’m not going to make a diagnosis; we don’t, it’s unethical to attempt to diagnose someone,” Davidson stated. “And I’m not sure if the president has a condition, but something just doesn’t seem right.
He added that Trump’s alleged habit of frequently asking for and boasting about the MoCA test is in itself an unusual indicator. According to Davidson, White House doctors generally do not repeatedly administer the same cognitive assessment to a patient unless there is a medical concern. The fact that Trump seems eager to continue taking it, he noted, is worth highlighting.
Acosta has often been a subject of Trump’s criticism, starting from his time covering the White House for CNN. He took the test in front of the camera to argue that no president should be in a situation where it’s necessary. By the end of the segment, Acosta was even more concerned about the president.
