May 22, NairobiA wide range of Sudanese political, civic, and military groups initiated discussions in Nairobi on Friday with the goal of discovering a way to conclude the conflict and bring about peace and stability in Sudan.

The initial session of the gathering of the “Sudanese Declaration of Principles Forces for Building a New Homeland” united leaders from political parties, civil society representatives, commanders of armed groups, and notable public figures.

Speeches were given by Abdalla Hamdok, chairman of the Sudham Alliance “Sumoud,” Abdelwahid Mohamed al-Nur, leader of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), and other leaders such as Ali al-Rayah al-Sanhouri, chairman of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party-Original.
