On a morning still carrying a chill, the sun’s warm rays illuminate Haeundae Beach as waves break with white foam. Walking barefoot on the gentle sand and inhaling deeply, the salty aroma of the ocean appears to invigorate every part of the body.
Spreading both arms to welcome the soft morning sunlight emerging from the horizon, it’s as if the burden of everyday life begins to vanish. During these yoga sessions aligned with the beat of the waves, the noise of daily routines disappears, leaving just a peaceful healing area between the individual and the ocean.
This year, a unique initiative has made a comeback, providing tired hearts with a comforting escape and renewal.
The **’2026 Marine Healing Tourism Program’** will be held at seven beaches—Haeundae, Songjeong, Gwangalli, Songdo, Dadaepo, Ilkwang, and Imrang—as well as the Dongbaekseom area every Saturday and Sunday from May through October in Busan Metropolitan City.
Introduced in 2021, this wellness-oriented travel content—now in its 6th version—integrates oceanic elements and regional traditions to offer attendees opportunities for calm and renewal via a variety of health-focused activities.

The annual schedule includes four events: Beach Yoga, Sunset Pilates, Ocean Running, and Singing Bowl Lounge.
**Beach Yoga** encourages attendees to relax their mind and body during weekend mornings by the water. **Sunset Pilates** provides a class that coincides with the sunset, combining the elegance of nature’s change with Pilates exercises. **Ocean Running** is a running initiative set beside the ocean, created to rejuvenate energy through connection with the natural environment.
The recently launched **Singing Bowl Lounge** utilizes the sounds and vibrations from singing bowls to encourage mental and physical relaxation.
Every program can accommodate a maximum of 30 individuals per session, with a cost of 10,000 South Korean won. Enrollment is handled on a first-come, first-served basis through the Busan Marine Healing website (BusanMarineHealing.kr).
Additional programs, such as Sound Walking and stay-based tourism packages (day trips and overnight, two-day options), will also be offered.

**Auditory Exploration** refers to the process of gathering and enhancing the sensory encounters with environmental sounds by utilizing specific tools (such as headsets and microphones) during a walk in natural surroundings.
Day-trip and accommodation-based programs incorporate Busan’s restorative spots—White Yeoul Village, Taejongdae, and Nine Mountains Forest—with Sound Walking, forming marine wellness travel packages. The one-night, two-day stay program blends ocean-related activities with hot spring and massage experiences for enhanced healing.
