A large number of Hyundai Tucson models in Australia have been recalled because of an issue with the sport utility vehicle’s automatic emergency braking feature.

The recallimpacts 36,496 2025–2026 Hyundai Tucsons.

The warning stated that the car’s automatic emergency braking system might keep engaging the brakes, ‘even when it is no longer needed to prevent a crash or lessen the force of impact’.

Owing to a software malfunction, the Forward Collision Avoidance system could potentially execute abrupt or unforeseen braking even when it is no longer required to prevent a collision or lessen its severity.

Unexpected or abrupt braking could raise the chances of an accident, potentially causing harm or fatalities to those inside the vehicle or other individuals on the road.
