Country artist Alexis Wilkins, the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, initiated a defamation lawsuit against MS NOW on Friday, alleging that the publication “intentionally and carelessly spread false information” regarding her.

A legal action disputes a December report that referenced unnamed sources claiming Patel instructed FBI agents to take Wilkins’s intoxicated friend home following a gathering in Nashville,The New Republicreported. The legal team of Wilkins described the report as “nonsense,” stating that she is 27 years old and “does not consume alcohol.”

They observed that a security team for Wilkins was not in place when the story was published, representing the first time in U.S. history that an FBI director provided such protection to a partner. Wilkins’s legal representatives stated in the document that she “hardly ever drinks.”

The lawsuit claims that MS NOW is promoting its own interests at Wilkins’s detriment.
