Before the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor in Nasarawa State, Ahmed Wadada, has urged those who did not win in the recent primaries to stay within the party.
Wadada, who currently serves as the representative for Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, issued the request at a press briefing held on Monday in Lafia, the state’s capital.
He stated that the APC continues to be a big and flexible party, capable of embracing the varied goals and viewpoints of its members before the 2027 elections.
He pledged to establish a government that is open, responsible, welcoming, and directed towards achieving clear outcomes upon being elected.
Wadada stated, “I also urge anyone who might feel disheartened or considering leaving our party to think again. The APC is a big and welcoming family, robust enough to embrace our varied goals and viewpoints.”
Let us avoid creating splits when unity is essential. Let us not undermine the progress we have collectively achieved over the years. The more significant challenge ahead of us is to get ready for the 2027 general election and keep moving forward on the path of development, peace, stability, and prosperity that is already being pursued in our state.
We will focus on the well-being of our citizens, reinforce organizations, increase economic possibilities, encourage our young people and women, assist farmers and business owners, and establish a favorable setting for investment and long-term development.
Wadada mentioned that his plan for Nasarawa State is summarized in the HEARTS Agenda, reflecting his dedication to people-focused leadership and long-term growth.
He mentioned that the elements of the HEARTS Agenda consist of Human Capital Development, Economic Growth, Agriculture, Rural Development, Technology and Investment, and Security.
He stated, “The HEARTS Agenda serves as an all-encompassing development plan aimed at strengthening current successes and creating fresh prospects for growth, creativity, empowering young people, advancing rural areas, fostering economic wealth, and enhancing safety.”
Our objective is straightforward: to make sure that each community, each interested party, and every individual experiences the benefits of good governance, no matter where they live, their social standing, faith, race, or political views.
He honored Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, highlighting that his leadership, political wisdom, and dedication to the unity and advancement of the APC had been outstanding.
As per Wadada, Sule’s government established a strong base for progress and advancement by achieving milestones in infrastructure, industrialization, agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and economic reform.
The prospective APC governor also praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for enacting changes designed to position Nigeria for enduring economic stability and ongoing growth.
Wadada mentioned that although there are difficulties involved in significant changes, Tinubu has continued to concentrate on developing a more robust economy, enhancing infrastructure, reinforcing institutions, drawing in investments, and generating prospects for the country’s growth and well-being.
I would like to convey my deep gratitude to the President for his forward-thinking leadership and dedication to democratic administration.
“As a dedicated member of the APC, I continue to pledge my support for the Federal Government’s initiatives aimed at economic development, national harmony, security, and the strengthening of democracy,” he stated.
