A man who died by falling in front of his shocked wife during a concert at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night has been recognized.

Paul Kueker, 51, fell 150 feet from the Chase Bridge during a Goose performance just before 10 p.m.

“He was the best child in the entire world,” said Kueker’s grieving mother, Patricia Finelli, to theNew York Post through tears.

“He would give you the shirt off his back,” she added.

He is the father of two children, has a lovely wife, and treated me as if I were precious gold.

The event occurred during theConnecticutthe band’s performance on the second night of their two-concert series at the famous Manhattan venue.

As per the New York Police Department, officers arrived at the scene following urgent calls about a fall within the venue and discovered the man was unconscious and not responding at 9:51 PM.

Soon, parts of the seating area were blocked off while emergency personnel moved through the packed event space.

Kueker was transported to Bellevue Hospital via ambulance, and he was declared deceased shortly after being brought in.

A photograph from the event, posted by a concert attendee, depicted multiple seats collapsed at the location, with police barriers enclosing the area.

The bridge known as The Chase, from which Kueker fell, was built in 2013 and features a suspended walkway design.

Eyewitnesses reported witnessing the instant Kueker tumbled from the upper level into a lower section of seats.

“A person collapsed. They carried him away on a stretcher. They aren’t allowing us to return to our area. They’re entering with mops and moving us to different seats. I’m in section 102,” a witness mentioned in a discussion regarding the event.

Another person who claimed to be present at the time of the collapse wrote: “We were there, my friend witnessed him fall to the level beneath us.”

The police stated that the inquiry is still in progress.

A music enthusiast, who served as director of operations for the energy management firm Smartcon Solutions, was attending the critical concert alongside his wife, according to Fox News.

‘We are deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Paul Kueker,’ William Brown, the general manager of Smartcon, stated in a release.

Paul was the world to everyone at Smartcon. He was an exceptional individual and a cherished member of our team, and his absence is deeply felt throughout the entire company.

We are thinking of his family and those close to him during this very challenging period. He will be deeply missed.

Some guests expressed disapproval of the band for continuing the performance following a short break caused by Kueker’s fall.

A Reddit user called the band ‘insensitive’, stating: ‘It’s unusual for people to pass away at concerts. It’s shocking that they concluded their performance with merely some barricaded seats.’

The group subsequently issued a statement expressing their ‘heartbroken’ feelings.

“We are profoundly distressed and devastated upon hearing about the unfortunate incident that took place during last night’s performance. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to all those impacted,” they stated.

The group also expressed gratitude to the emergency workers and event staff.

The band, consisting of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis, is currently on a 27-show tour spanning 19 cities in the United States and Canada.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Madison Square Garden for a response.
