Netflixhas produced more television programs this year than we can tally with two hands.

From Louis Theroux’s shocking Inside the Manosphere to three gripping Harlan Coben thrillers, there have been some high-quality — and significant — timepieces.

Nevertheless, in addition to the outstanding ones, there have also been some, let’s say, less impressive ones.

In this analysis, we examine several of Netflix’s most unsuccessful releases from 2026, according to their projected viewership during the initial two weeks after launch.

A quick note, even though some have almost perfect scores onRotten Tomatoes, it does not imply they were immediately successful.

Let’s discover which programs did not manage to impress the ruling viewers — you’ll be amazed by some of them…

6. Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials (Limited Series) — 19.89 million views

Sure, this first one will surprise you. Especially when you consider its 70% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, along with its impressive ensemble featuring Mia McKenna-Bruce, Helena Bonham Carter andMartin Freeman.

What’s On Netflix, an independent news and fan resource focused on monitoring the Netflix streaming collection, described it as a “solid mid-level” series, far from the Q1 champions likeBridgertonSeason 4 and His and Hers.

Seven Dialsonly managed to gather 19.89 million views within the first two weeks — the previous two series reached 73.5 million and 59.23 million, respectively.

In true Agatha Christiestyle, the series revolves around a murder mystery. Set in 1925 during an opulent countryside gathering, a prank leads to tragic consequences.

It is Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent (McKenna) who must decipher the scheme and uncover the murder.

Although it had modest ratings, critics described it as a ‘brief and delightful exploration of an enigmatic realm featuring outstanding acting and a vibrant style.’

Nevertheless, they pointed out that it wasn’t the ‘top-tier Agatha Christie adaptations.’

5. Virgin River (Season 7) — 16.5 million views

There has been a prolonged discussion regardingVirgin River.Although some consider it the ultimate comforting show, addressing significant topics such as PTSD and the opioid epidemic, others have criticized it as a formulaic soap opera filled with overused dramatic elements and repetition.

No matter where you fall on the spectrum, the newest season didn’t appear to engage as many viewers as it hoped.

According to Netflix, the latest set of episodes (released in March) depicts ‘newlyweds Mel and Jack as they embark on an emotional path to adopt a baby boy who needs specialized heart treatment.’

The show holds an audience Popcornmeter score of 66% overall on Rotten Tomatoes, but this decreased to 54% in season 7.

One individual criticized the season for featuring “plots that are entirely pointless and contribute nothing.” They also mentioned that “not much occurs.”

Meanwhile, another person stated that, although it is a ‘great series overall,’ it is now ‘losing momentum.’

4. Discovering Her Limits (Season 1) — 14 million views

This one could confuse you, given the 86% Tomatometer rating.

In short, the series unfolds as follows: ‘A former ice dancer comes back to the rink with a thrilling new partner while still carrying emotions for her previous one — her first love.’

The Canadian teenage sports drama is based on the book of the same title by Jennifer Iacopelli. It attracted only 14 million viewers in its first two weeks.

However, it fared better in that period compared to Netflix’s other well-known sports drama,Running Point, which reached 12 million views within two weeks.

Nevertheless, these numbers did not prevent the Kate Hudson-led series from being renewed for a third season in May of this year.

Anyway, Netflix might not have beentoo angry at the figures, as in February,Finding Her Edgewas given a second season renewal.

Additionally, given the positive RT critics consensus, the cast and crew need not be too hard on themselves: ‘Sappy but never falling into clichés, this engaging YA adaptation smoothly flows across the screen and your time without any regrets.’

3. Something Extremely Awful Is About to Occur (Season 1) — 13.32 million views

This one might be more surprising, given the extensive media coverage the show received before, during, and after its release in March.

Daisy Jones & The Six’sCamilla Morrone portrays Rachel Harkin, who is set to marry Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Cunningham, played by Adam DiMarco.

As the couple’s wedding approaches — scheduled to be held at the Cunninghams’ remote residence in the snowy forests of UpstateNew York— unsettling truths about family history challenge their bond.

Interestingly, the horror mini-series was well-received by critics, who awarded it an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

They also said the showtakes the nerves of a newlywed couple to the surreal world of must-watch television,’ while praising it for ‘combining horror and immersive storytelling in an exciting way.

Nevertheless, the audience score was significantly lower at 62%, with some viewers describing it as the ‘ideal example of pretentious contemporary horror that undermines its own concept for the sake of hollow conventions.’

Another person mentioned that the first episode “left much to be desired.”

2. Vladimir (Limited Series) — 8.6 million views

Leo Woodalland Rachel Weisz appears inVladimir, a comedy-drama centered around an English professor who develops an obsession with a charming new colleague. The only issue? She is married.

It is a film based on the book titled “Julia May Jonas” by the same name.

Could it be the formulaic romantic comedy structure that led to the poor ratings? Or perhaps the adaptation failed to meet expectations set by the book? Or maybe the humor was simply too obvious?

At the very least, this is what the Popcornmeter community is stating, having given the show a 54% rating.

Nevertheless, the critics were more favorable, awarding the program a 74% rating and describing it as a ‘promisingly sensual and scholarly project that breaks through the common stereotypes of standard sex comedies with creative energy.’

They also discussed how the actors succeeded in making conversations about desire ‘engaging, thought-provoking, and emotionally resonant.’

1. Free Bert (Season 1) — 7.93 million views

And in first place — for all the wrong reasons — is the first season of Free Bert, a comedy show that chronicles a fictionalized version of comedian Bert Kreischer and his family.

As the family gets ready to relocate to Beverly Hills following their daughters’ enrollment at the prestigious Barklidge private school, will Bert’s straightforward personality and genuine nature come into conflict with the affluent, image-focused upper class?

Once more, neither critics nor viewers despised the first season, as both gave the series a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In the same way, What’s On Netflix mentioned that its viewership figures were “not a disaster on their own.” The platform also noted that it “is among the top-rated comedy shows featuring prominent actors that have emerged in recent years and received immediate renewal.”

I hope season two will attract higher ratings.
