The government of Oyo State has removed the restriction placed on 10 local government areas after the latest abduction event in Oriire.

The authorities had previously imposed a 16-hour curfew in the affected regions and later extended the measure by another day on Thursday as part of initiatives to manage the security conditions.

The Information Commissioner, Prince Dotun Oyelade, made the announcement in a statement, noting that locals can now return to their usual routines.

He expressed appreciation to the residents of the impacted areas for their tolerance, collaboration, and comprehension throughout the curfew period.

Oyelade mentioned that the government is closely observing the security conditions and pledged to the locals that actions are being taken to conclude the kidnapping issue and establish long-term peace in the impacted regions.
