Pakistan, June 28 — The earthquake in Venezuela has resulted in at least 1,430 fatalities, with 3,238 individuals injured, as per the most recent official data. Rescue crews are still searching for survivors as emergency efforts reach a crucial stage.

The head of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, verified the revised death toll, stating that 3,142 individuals have been forced to leave their homes due to the catastrophe. Officials are also worried that almost 50,000 people are still unaccounted for, which could lead to a higher number of casualties in the end.

Over 72 hours have elapsed since the intense earthquakes hit, significantly lowering the likelihood of discovering survivors under the debris. Although the critical period for rescue efforts is narrowing, emergency teams succeeded in rescuing two women from collapsed structures in the coastal region of La Guaira.

Venezuela’s interim president has imposed military control over La Guaira to accelerate aid delivery and ensure safety. Mobile clinics have also been set up to offer immediate medical care to individuals impacted by the catastrophe.

The earthquake in Venezuela has led to a global reaction, with the United States, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Spain, France, China, India, and numerous other nations providing humanitarian assistance, medical staff, and expert rescue teams. The catastrophe was caused by two intense earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 that occurred on Wednesday, resulting in extensive damage throughout the area.
