Ruben Amoriminsists that AC Milan is an even greater challenge thanManchester United, as he takes on his first job since leavingOld Trafford.

The 41-year-old departed from the Red Devils in January following a challenging period for everyone involved.

Amorim coached 63 matches for Manchester United, securing victories in only 24 of them, resulting in a win percentage of 38.10.

It was a difficult period for the Portuguese coach, particularly since his successor,Michael Carrick, made the task seem much simpler, ending the previous season in third place.

Amorim’s standing has evidently not been severely harmed, yet he is making a return to coaching with one of Europe’s most prestigious football clubs.

AC Milan placed fifth in Serie A during the previous season, and the new manager faces the challenge of bringing them back to contention for the championship and competing in theChampions League.

He feels that the current challenge is more difficult than the one he encountered when he assumed leadership.Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

“I’m genuinely pleased to be here,” he stated as he starts his job at the San Siro.

It is a privilege to serve as the coach ofAC Milan. If you review an old interview of mine, I mentioned that this is a unique group for me.

It’s a significant challenge. Following the previous time, I had vowed to pick something less demanding, but now I find myself facing an even greater one.

But I am proud to be here; now I want to collaborate with my team and players… I am truly delighted to be here.

When asked if his intention was to win trophies, he replied, “Certainly.”

You can’t visit Milan without adopting this mindset. I’m not naive and I understand we have much to accomplish, but if you’re the coach of Milan, you must play to win.

Amorim certainly expressed his affection for AC Milan in a previous interview, stating in 2017: ‘As a child, I had two major passions:Benfica and AC Milan.

I still recall spending many hours watching videos of Sacchi and Capello’s Rossoneri: Maldini, Baresi, Gullit, Rijkaard, Savicevic…

My childhood aspirations were to play for Benfica and AC Milan. I was only able to realize one of them. Now I’ll have to coach the Rossoneri.

AC Milan’s president, Paolo Scaroni, mentions that Amorim has been of interest to club owner Gerry Cardinale for some time and hopes the choice will be a ‘magical’ one.

“I am aware that Gerry Cardinale had been tracking Amorim for a while, a coach he was very interested in,” Scaroni said, throughANSA.

I believe that Gerry Cardinale possesses his own unique talent in selecting individuals; he has shown this repeatedly throughout his life, and I hope that this time it also turns out to be a magical touch,

I am certain that all things will start in the correct manner.
