The Kimberley Diamond Cup has reinforced its dedication to advancing South African skateboarding by naming one of the nation’s most seasoned professional skateboarders,Khule Ngubane, as their new athlete development coach.

Collaborating with the Exilite Holdings Diamonds and Dorings Kimberley Diamond Cup team, Khule will lead training sessions, guide upcoming riders, and help discover young talent capable of succeeding at both regional and global levels.

His selection adds many years of expertise to one of South Africa’s top skateboarding advancement initiatives.

Khule’s path in the world of sports started well before he emerged as one of the nation’s most admired professionals. At just 11 years old, he first encountered skateboarding on TV, and the activity instantly sparked his interest. A year later, his grandfather presented him with his very own skateboard for his birthday, an event that would significantly alter the direction of his life.

Raising up in Chesterville KZN, yet following his dream was not straightforward.

Being the sole child in the region who skateboarded, Khule frequently faced teasing and disapproval from individuals who looked down on the activity. Within his own family, there was also opposition, and because there were no nearby skate parks, he often walked five kilometers just to locate a spot where he could skate without charge.

Instead of discouraging him, these obstacles formed the basis of his strength.

Khule frequently acknowledges his challenging early years for influencing his mental approach, stating that the difficulties helped him become mentally resilient and “unbreakable.”

His resolve enabled him to climb the ranks, becoming a professional at an early age and becoming recognized as one of the seasoned figures in South African skateboarding.

Throughout the years, he has participated in some of the most prestigious levels of the sport, delivering unforgettable performances at the Kimberley Diamond Cup and also journeying abroad to famous skateboarding spots like Los Angeles in the United States and Barcelona in Spain.

His extensive background in competition is now anticipated to be crucial in nurturing young South African skaters.

The Kimberley Diamond Cup values Khule’s expertise along with his inspiring journey of determination, which is expected to motivate a new wave of athletes and contribute to elevating the level of skateboarding throughout the nation.

Aspiring skaters and newcomers will soon get a chance to gain knowledge from a seasoned expert, as school holiday coaching sessions are scheduled to occur at the Kimberley Skate Plaza.

The Kimberley Diamond Cup has invited the public to track its social media accounts for updates regarding the schedules of future events.

Under Khule’s leadership, organizers are confident that the future of South African skateboarding is more promising than ever, as they keep focusing on nurturing talent and providing chances for the nation’s upcoming riders.
