A man who opened fire on law enforcement was discovered deceased following an armed confrontation, during which one officer was injured in the conflict.
Police were dispatched to adomestic violencesubstance at a location at Yengarie, close to Maryborough inQueenslandapproximately 5:45 pm on Friday
It is claimed that a 45-year-old individual confronted the officers and fired upon them.
A rookie officer was injured in the leg during the event.
A specialized police unit arrived at the location at 9:20 PM and discovered the 45-year-old man deceased during their search of the property.
A crimeThe scene was set, with a power outage affecting over 100 nearby homes for several hours due to safety issues.
A 36-year-old officer was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable state.
“He is being provided with specialized medical treatment, and the QPS is handling the notification of his close relatives,” stated a union representative.
The Quantum Processing Unit Critical Incident Team is also offering support.
The event will be examined by the Ethical Standards Command, subject to the supervision of the Crime and Corruption Commission, with results to be submitted to the state coroner.
