Tyson Furyhas suffered a setback following the local council’s approval of plans for a large airport parking lot at the end of his garden.

A parking lot with 1,384 spaces is planned to be constructed near the residence of the world champion in the upscale village of Styal.

It is part of Cheshire’s ‘Golden Triangle,’ a region that is very popular among footballers, soap opera actors, and reality TV stars, including Tyson’s brother Tommy and his fiancée.Molly-Mae Hague.

Cheshire East Council has approved the adjacentManchester Airportsupport for constructing the car park as part of its ten-year, £1.3 billion development strategy, even though four of Fury’s neighbors opposed it.

The location is within walking distance of Wilmslow and only 1km away from the airport. As stated in planning documents, it currently consists of “a set of large abandoned horticultural glasshouse structures.”

It remains uncertain whether Fury was among those who raised concerns, even though the large plot will directly adjoin a piece of land he owns that he has been attempting to renovate for many years.

In 2023, he was refused authorization to tear down the current house on the property and construct a £4 million mansion instead, following the discovery of bats residing in the attic. The residence is currently vacant.

Later that year, Fury and his brothers were required to pay almost £100,000 when a judge determined they were responsible for unpaid business rates on a different plot of land owned by the family, located across the road and utilized as a parking area.

A neighbor from Manchester Airport who expressed their dissatisfaction with the plans stated: ‘This project, as outlined, will cause significant and unacceptable effects on our living conditions, the essence of the neighborhood, and the Green Belt.’

For many years, this location has gradually evolved from a thriving agricultural enterprise into what is currently planned to be a densely packed retail parking lot.

We are deeply worried that this change places airport expansion above the basic right of long-time residents to live in their homes without enduring excessive noise, light pollution, and a decrease in privacy.

It also completely contradicts the Net Zero 2050 goal and the Climate Change Act 2008, both of which are essential for preventing the decline in quality of life for our children and grandchildren.

Several adjacent properties collectively expressed worries regarding the safety of residents, noise levels, and light disturbance, as the parking area will function around the clock.

‘Several of us have resided here for many years. We consider ourselves integral to a long-term connection with the airport. Choices made at this moment will influence that bond for years ahead,’ stated the opposition.

Additionally, it should be noted: “We are not against the airport’s expansion… However, this particular proposal seems to be fundamentally different—not due to the fact that development is happening, but because of its close proximity to existing residences and the potential extent of its operational effects.”

The area is designated as protected Green Belt land and is bordered by nature, yet it was approved by the council’s Strategic Planning Board during a meeting held on July 22, albeit with numerous stipulations.

This involves acquiring a European Protected Species permit from Natural England, as Great Crested Newts, reptiles, hedgehogs, and birds could be impacted.

Fury and his two brothers, John Jr. and Shane, had been leasing a parking lot on their property, which led to legal issues with the courts in 2023.

Their father John Sr stated he had signed the lease agreement with a valet company, and his children had not done anything wrong by not paying £82,166 to the council for a car park adjacent to his home.

However, the district judge mandated that the three brothers cover the business rates bill along with court expenses, amounting to almost £100k.

Now Fury is experiencing a similar situation with this new parking lot near his residence.

Fury acquired the eight-bedroom house in December 2020 for £2.5 million, intending to demolish it and build a six-bedroom residence featuring a swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, and movie theater.

At first, he planned to tear down the eight-bedroom house and build a six-bedroom residence featuring a swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, and movie theater.

Nevertheless, after several conflicts with the committee, he had to cancel the request.

Two protected bat species were discovered residing in a loft, while birds gathering at his pond and fruit trees posed a risk to nearby aircraft.

The boxer would have required a unique permit from Natural England prior to starting the project, since it is illegal to intentionally or carelessly disturb the nocturnal flying creatures.

And earlier this year, neighbors also raised worries that the property faces a significant risk of flooding if further plans for an apartment and residential complex directly across are approved.

GR Jones Property Ltd aims to construct ten four-bedroom standalone homes and ten apartment units on Fury’s Country Lane, sparking over ten complaints.

A neighbor stated: “The homes adjacent to the planned location experience flooding frequently. Previous efforts to address this issue have not yielded results.”

Without the field and pond functioning as a natural settling basin, conditions will deteriorate, putting the homes across the road at risk of sudden flooding.

Another person expressed concern: “The likelihood of flooding in this area is extremely high, particularly during heavy rain. The application claims that this project will not raise the flood risk in other areas. This is false!”

This latest development would merely exacerbate the already significant problem of flooding. As climate change progresses, this situation is likely to deteriorate further.

Fury has now moved to the Isle of Man.

New images and footage reveal the structure in a dangerous condition, with the roof collapsed on the primary residence, and it requiring an expensive renovation.
