Multiple power cuts triggered by birds, such as crows, have taken place in northern Busan.

As per the Busan-Ulsan Branch of the Korea Electric Power Corporation, KEPCO, at approximately 6:07 p.m. on August 9, electricity was interrupted for 981 households, including residential areas, in Gupo-dong, northern Busan. KEPCO initiated repair efforts and restored normal power supply around 7:15 p.m., roughly an hour later. A representative from KEPCO mentioned, “The power failure happened when crows made contact with the electrical connection points.”

Earlier, at approximately 4:34 p.m. on August 8, 986 households in Hwamyeong-dong and Geumgok-dong, located in northern Busan, faced a power disruption. KEPCO began emergency repair efforts and restored electricity to 904 homes within roughly an hour, finishing the remaining 82 households by around 8 p.m. KEPCO stated that this outage was also caused by birds, such as crows, coming into contact with electrical equipment.
