Pakistan, August 20 — Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani arrived in Islamabad for a significant visit on Wednesday. This journey represents the first time a Syrian foreign minister has visited Pakistan in 19 years. Al-Shaibani came along with a senior delegation to engage in discussions with Pakistani authorities. The visit occurs amid ongoing tensions in Syria and the broader region. Pakistan strongly criticized an Israeli strike on the Abu al-Duhur Airbase in Idlib. Islamabad described the attack as unwarranted. In the meantime, Pakistan and Syria have kept diplomatic relations for many years.
