A mattress entrepreneur and election skeptic, Mike Lindell, failed to meet a crucial deadline to demonstrate that he truly won his election.
The Daily Beast reported on Tuesdayeven though Lindell claimed he won his primary election for governor, he failed to meet the deadline for challenging the election outcome.
Lindell obtained 45,000 fewer votes than the victor, Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, yet pledged last week torequest a recount“based on unspecified ‘anomalies’ that he asserted his team had identified,” the report stated.
When it was time to present his results and take a formal position challenging the votes, Lindell avoided doing so.
“The office of the Minnesota Secretary of State developed a recount strategy on August 18, which was projected to cost Lindell $825,000, and established Monday as the deadline for submitting the request and providing a ‘bond, cash, or surety’ for payment,” the report stated.
Lindell keeps requesting funds to continue his election challenge, despite having exceeded the deadline.
