The 30th Manhae Prize Award Ceremony was held at the Haneulnaerin Center in Inje-eup, Gangwon Province, on the afternoon of September 9.
At the ceremony, Niishimori Shiozo, former chairman of the Kochi Prefectural Assembly in Japan, who has worked to improve Korea-Japan relations by conveying the East Asian peace philosophy of independence fighter Ahn Jung-geun to Japanese society, received the Manhae Peace Prize. The Manhae Practical Award was given to Park Joon-young, a lawyer specializing in retrials, and Ahn Gyu-ri, director of Raphael Nanum, who has cared for patients in medical blind spots, including migrants. The Manhae Literary Award was presented to poet Jeong Ho-seung, well-known for the poetry collection *Alone, That’s What Makes Us Human*, and Park Myung-sung, artistic director of Seensee Company, referred to as the “elder statesman of the Korean musical theater industry.”
