Traffic congestion occurred in various areas during the evening commute as major roads in downtown Seoul were controlled due to the Korea-Central Asia Summit held in Jung-gu, Seoul.

On the evening of the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is controlling all lanes in both directions on sections of Euljiro, Sogong-ro near the Westin Josun Hotel in Jung-gu where the summit is being held, as well as parts of Sowol-ro in Yongsan-gu.

According to the Seoul Traffic Information Portal ‘TOPIS’, as of 7 p.m., vehicles are moving slowly or experiencing congestion on some sections of major roads in Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu, among other downtown areas.

This traffic control is a measure due to the movement of the five heads of state and their delegations attending the summit. The Dongbu Expressway, Olympic Highway, and others will also be controlled until the 17th.

As traffic congestion is expected during the event period, the police urged citizens to use public transportation whenever possible and to check traffic conditions in advance if they have to use personal vehicles.
