San Francisco Giants’ Lee Jung-hoo (28) achieved his first double-digit home run since joining MLB (Major League Baseball).
Lee Jung-hoo, batting fourth (right fielder), started as the leadoff hitter in the top of the second inning during the Giants’ road game against the LA Dodgers on September 19, trailing 0-1.
Facing opposing starter Tyler Glasnow, Lee Jung-hoo hit a 131 km/h knuckle curveball on the fifth pitch with a 2-ball-2-strike count, clearing the right-field fence for a solo home run. The ball traveled 115 meters at 157 km/h. It was his first home run in 32 games since August 11 against the Houston Astros.
The tying solo home run marked Lee Jung-hoo’s 10th of the 2026 season, breaking his personal best. He hit 2 home runs in his debut 2024 season and 8 in 2025.
In his remaining three at-bats, Lee Jung-hoo grounded out twice on fly balls to the outfield and once on a foul fly to the third baseman. He finished with 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored in 4 at-bats, maintaining a .274 season batting average.
The Dodgers won the game 8-2. They hit five home runs, four of which came in the 8th inning (three 1-run homers and one 2-run homer). Mookie Betts hit two solo home runs (1st and 8th innings). The Dodgers, who had already clinched first place in the National League West Division the previous day, extended their winning streak to two games.
The Atlanta Braves, Kim Ha-seong’s team, secured their postseason berth by defeating the Houston Astros 6-2. Leading the National League East Division, Atlanta clinched at least a wild card. Kim Ha-seong did not play in the game.
