The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has disbursed a total sum of ₦40.7million to families of fallen officers under the Group Life Insurance Scheme.

According to a Friday statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Borno State Command, ASP Nahum Daso, the beneficiaries comprise next-of-kin and family members of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty while serving with courage and dedication.

The initiative, according to the Command, underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

During the cheque presentation ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, while giving the IGP’s speech, emphasised that the welfare of officers and their families remains a top priority for the Force.

He described the scheme as a testament to the IGP’s compassion, accountability, and exemplary leadership in honoring officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for national peace and security.

The Commissioner of Police urged the beneficiaries to utilise the funds wisely to support the education, healthcare, and general well-being of their families.

He further appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for sustaining the Group Life Assurance scheme, describing it as a vital mechanism for providing financial relief and stability to the families of fallen heroes.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Jones Madah expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his compassionate gesture and assured that the beneficiaries would make prudent and judicious use of the funds.
