A fire broke out at around 5:19 a.m. on September 24 in a 14-story apartment building in Sanbuk-dong, Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province.
The blaze caused a man in his 60s to suffer third-degree burns over his entire body, and he is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The man was rescued unconscious but regained consciousness during transportation to the hospital.
The fire was extinguished approximately 50 minutes after the 119 fire brigade arrived. Residents evacuated during the incident.
Authorities, including the fire department and police, are investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage based on witness statements.
