Hangeul and paintings bloom on fans. The Young Literature Museum (Director Kang In-suk) announced that it will hold the “Hangeul Calligraphy and Painting Fan Exhibition” from October 1 to 31 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hangeul Day’s establishment this year. The exhibition will showcase traditional fan paintings (seonmyeonhwa) as well as works distinguished by free-form compositions.
Featured artists include calligraphers and painters such as Lee Jong-sang, Kim Byung-jong, and Kim Dan-hee, alongside poets Kim Nam-jo, Kim Ji-ha, Lee Geun-bae, Jeong Jin-gyu, and Jeong Hyun-jong. Works by novelists Park Hwa-seong, Choi Jung-hee, Park Wan-seo, Han Mal-suk, Oh Jung-hee, Song Young, and Jo Jung-rae will also be introduced.
The exhibition will display works blending poetry, prose, calligraphy, and painting, including texts written by literary critic Lee O-young and paintings by artist Lee Seok-jo (photo).
