-Under the theme ‘Baekje Kaleidoscope,’ UNESCO World Heritage site Gongsanseong transforms into a night art stage featuring large media facades and giant art installations.
The 1,500-year history and artistry of Woongjin Baekje are coming back to life through vibrant light displays at Gongsanseong Fortress—a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do. Hosted by Gongju City and the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation, ‘2026 Gongsanseong Media Art’ takes place nightly from October 2 to October 11, running alongside the 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival.
1. Geumseoru Gate Media Facade & Light Path
The entrance to Geumseoru Gate features pattern-projected lighting that guides visitors along a path of light. The outer walls of Geumseoru Gate serve as a massive projection screen for a grand media facade, visually depicting King Muryeong’s tomb stone inscriptions and Baekje’s armored cavalry.
2. Interactive ‘Five Doctors’ Research Labs
Inside the Seongan Village area, interactive installations themed around the Obang-baksa (the ‘Five Doctors’ or intellects of Baekje) invite visitors to explore ancient philosophy, architecture, aesthetics, and astronomy through modern media technology.
3. 10x Scale Giant ‘Jinmyosu’ Installation
A giant air-bound sculpture of Jinmyosu—the legendary guardian spirit of King Muryeong’s Tomb—is created at ten times its original size. Serving as a main photo landmark for families, the area also features a romantic ‘Moon of Wishes’ photo zone and pop-art merchandise inspired by Baekje artifacts.

Opening Ceremony (Oct 2): Features a pre-show musical performance by Seodo Band followed by the grand media art launch performance.
