On Sunday, one of the suspects was brought to the Batu Pahat Magistrate’s Court, where a judge allowed him to be detained for six days until Friday to assist in ongoing investigations.

Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad said the victim had suffered several injuries to several parts of her head and body and was subsequently confirmed dead at the scene.

According to reports, the victim was discovered by her grandmother, who had gone to the school to look for her after she failed to return home following tuition classes.

Meanwhile, Ayer Hitam MP Dr Wee Ka Siong has pledged help to the victim’s family.

Wee said he was shocked and saddened by the news of the student’s death and conveyed his deepest condolences to her family.

“May they be given the strength and courage to get through this difficult time,” he said in a statement on social media on Sunday.

Wee also said his team would do whatever they could to assist the family with whatever they might need following the tragedy.

The MP, who is also president of the Malaysian Chinese Association, urged the public to allow the authorities to conduct their investigation into the case.

“For now, let us give the authorities the space they need to conduct their investigations,” he said.
