“Can K-beauty maintain steady expansion? Absolutely, yes,” declared Yoon Sang-hyun, vice chairman of Kolma Group, during a speech at the “Amazon Beauty in Seoul 2026” conference held in Seoul on October 27. His remarks underscored strong belief that K-beauty will continue to grow steadily, even as global competition in the cosmetics sector intensifies.

Yoon highlighted South Korea’s distinctive industrial ecosystem as the core engine propelling K-beauty forward. This includes a dynamic landscape marked by the constant rise of innovative cosmetic brands, a distribution environment highly supportive of beauty products, and the world’s most advanced cosmetics ODM (original design manufacturing) industry.

During the event, Yoon remarked, “The key driver of K-beauty’s expansion is the ongoing emergence of new brands,” and explained, “Thanks to an ecosystem where ODM firms like Kolmar Korea can manufacture high-quality products and global platforms such as Amazon link them directly to international consumers, innovation thrives—provided there are strong concepts.” He stressed further, “The ability to consistently nurture and scale new brands is what truly defines K-beauty’s competitive edge.”

Kolmar Korea returned for the third year in a row as the exclusive manufacturing sponsor of this year’s “Amazon Beauty in Seoul” gathering. The event brings together key players across the cosmetics value chain—manufacturers, brands, distributors, and investors—to exchange insights on global market success and identify tangible collaboration opportunities. Around 10,000 professionals attended in person and online, including Kolma Group’s Vice Chairman Yoon Sang-hyun and Shin Hwasuk, head of Amazon Global Selling Korea.

At the event, Kolmar Korea hosted a booth showcasing a wide range of skincare, makeup, personal care, and sun care products and technologies. They also offered comprehensive consulting services—from product formulation to packaging—collaborating with Yonwoo, their cosmetics packaging arm. Dedicated consultation zones for Amazon regional listings were also set up, enabling brands and aspiring entrepreneurs to discuss every stage of development, from concept to global market entry, all under one roof.

A representative from Kolmar Korea noted, “This event reaffirmed that K-beauty has evolved into a resilient, long-term industry, not just a fleeting trend,” and added, “Going forward, we will actively back the creation and international expansion of new K-beauty brands through our ongoing partnership with Amazon.”
