A driver under the influence of drugs led police on a 140mph pursuit, crashed into a roundabout, and flipped his BMW into the air during the intense high-speed chase.
Ashley Parr, 35, attempted to escape police on the A64 near York on July 21 of the previous year.
Law enforcement was alerted to reckless driving and intercepted Parr as he was returning to Leeds.
Following the activation of the blue lights, Parr did not come to a stop and instead accelerated to attempt an escape from the officers.
He reached speeds of 130mph on the A64 andachieved 140mph on the M1.
Nevertheless, he stopped abruptly after colliding with a roundabout, causing his vehicle to launch into the air and rotate as it landed.
Parr, who served as a site manager for a housing project, eventually confessed to reckless driving, drug-related driving, and driving under the influence.

On Monday, he received a 16-month prison sentence at York Crown Court and was prohibited from driving for three years and eight months.
The police were initially notified about Parr’s unusual driving at 9:10 PM, after a member of the public reported him driving recklessly in the Garrowby Hill area along the A166.
Inspections revealed that the BMW 3 Series was registered under an address in Leeds.
Expecting the vehicle to travel toward Leeds, police mapped out its probable path along the A64 heading west.
Traffic Officer Nick Simpson stood at the A64 Fulford Interchange.
Shortly after, the BMW sped by his position and TC Simpson began the pursuit.
Upon observing its unstable movement, he concluded that the best course of action was to halt the vehicle immediately.
After turning on the blue lights, the BMW first reduced speed and moved into lane one, but then executed a sudden move across the dashed lines and proceeded along the A64 towards junction 44 of the A1.
The driver was unable to come to a stop, speeding up to 130mph on the A64 before crashing into the roundabout and lifting off the ground.
The BMW flipped multiple times before stopping in a roadside bush.
After Parr’s sentencing, TC Simpson of North Yorkshire Police stated: ‘This was highly reckless driving that could have easily led to the death of other road users, as well as the driver himself.’
We remain determined in our efforts to enhance road safety across North Yorkshire. Eliminating those who drive in this way conveys a strong message that such conduct is unacceptable.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the member of the public who reported this driver. If you see driving that presents an immediate risk to others, please dial 999.
